Collins Planning Ref: 2560504 Dear Sir/Madam, We refer to your correspondence regarding the above mentioned application for development at Magheross, Carrickmacross. Inland Fisheries Ireland (IF) is a statutory agency responsible for inland fisheries in Ireland. Under section 7(1) of the Inland Fisheries Act 2010 (No. 10 of 2010) the principal function of IFI is the protection, management and conservation of the inland fisheries resource. The site is located in the River Proules catchment, a sub-catchment of the River Glyde. The River Proules contains valuable fisheries habitat and supports stocks of brown trout, lamprey species and European eel among other species. The WFD Ecological status of the waterbody at this location, Proules_020, is Poor and At Risk of not achieving Good status. IFl recommends that mitigation measures should be implemented on site to prevent the discharge of deleterious matter from the site during the construction period to protect the nearby aquatic habitat.
