HomeMy WebLinkAbout2560504 - Report Received from Internal Staff - Environment No 2ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT To Donna McEvoy From: John Ryan, Environment Section Ref: 25/60504 Danny Collins Agent: Joe Mc Cabe, Finegan Jackson Building Surveyors Limited permission for a development consisting of the retention of modular staff building and storage shed extension, construction of vehicle maintenance shed, connections to existing services and all associated site works. The site is located within the Proules_020 waterbody which has been classified as Poor Status, 2019- 2024 with an objective of Good Status by 2027. Lough Na Glack is located to the East of the site and currently has Bad ecological status under WFD 2019-2024. The site is located on an area of high groundwater vulnerability which is underlain by a regionally important Aquifer with moderately productive bedrock. Site layout plan of existing and proposed drainage submitted as part of the application. I have the following comments in relation to the application and in particular the site layout plan submitted: • Proposed foul drainage for new maintenance shed outlined in site layout plan submitted connects with existing foul drainage from the existing staff building. Stormwater drain which runs from the existing storage shed appears to connect to the new maintenance shed.- Should storm water from the maintenance shed have an interceptor/silt trap/holding tank. • Plans do not contain details of bunded tanks in proposed new maintenance shed. If maintenance work to be carried out on buses will fuel, oil, mechanical fluids be stored inside the maintenance shed. Waste oils, brake fluid etc… • Existing truck wash bay has existing storm drainage on drawing which is to link up with proposed new storm drainage. Should the truck wash have its own interceptor/silt trap. • Proposed new storm water drainage takes water from the storage shed(existing), staff building(existing),wash bay(existing) and proposed new maintenance shed appearing to discharge directly to the Proules River- should an interceptor/silt trap/holding tank be installed prior to this discharge. • Existing foul drainage on site layout plan appears to come from the existing staff building and join with the foul from the proposed new maintenance shed then stop in the middle of the site- is there a sewer connection contract with Uisce Eireann in place? • Existing gravel yard/bus parking area doesn’t detail any storm drainage/silt trap/interceptor. Should the bus parking area have its own interceptor/silt trap. Also existing bus parking area is on gravel- should it be an impermeable concrete surface with associated storm water drainage/silt trap and interceptor.
