Re: Proposed Residential Development in proximity to spans 49-50 of the Dundalk-Louth 110 kV Transmission Line. Dear Patsy Further to your enquiry to ESB Networks in relation to a proposed residential development at Drumasss, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, the 110 kV Transmission Line in proximity is the Dundalk- Louth 110 kV Span 49-50, Folio refers. Design Clearances I have carried out the required ESB’s 110 kV Electrical Safety Building Clearance Calculations with reference to Span 49-50 of the Dundlak-Louth 110kV Transmission Line based on the details received. • Based on the proposed drawings provided 11/12/2025 the house at its nearest point is located 19.5m perpendicularly laterally from the 110 kV centerline the centerline in this case is the middle overhead conductor/wire (15m from the nearest 110 kV wire). Based on the above ESB would have no objection to the proposed residential development. Please ensure that any revisions to the planned works (i.e. Building dimensions including heights and locations relative to the 110 kV Transmission Line, finished ground levels etc.) are re-issued to this Office / ESB Networks for review prior to any works commencing to ensure all of the above electrical clearances have been adhered to. REC E I V E D : 1 1 / 0 2 / 2 0 2 6 Further buildings, garages, garden sheds etc. must not be built within 23m of the 110 kV Transmission Line centerline without first receiving clearances from this Office. No ground level alterations are permitted beneath the 110 kV Transmission Line without prior consultation with this Office / ESB Networks, this is to ensure that ESB’s 110 kV Electrical Safety Clearances Requirements are not compromised. Other ESB Services It is essential that contact is made with your local ESB Networks office regarding any other ESB services, i.e. Overhead Lines and Underground Cables which may be present on site, contact details are provided in Annex 5 of the Code of Practice included with this letter. Thank you for consulting with ESB regarding the proposed development Should you need any further information or clarifications please do not hesitate to contact me on 087-1461175.
