Churchfield farm producers ltd is a poultry producer group consisting of 70
farmer growers based in the Monaghan and Cavan Area who rear and grow
broiler chickens for Western Brand Group ltd based in mayo
Our Monaghan and Cavan growers units vary in size from an 18000 bird site up
to a 170000 bird unit the average grower in our group size is 46000 birds and
the number of crops per year is 5.8 crop cycles per year
As the managing director of Churchfield farm producers ltd I fully support the
plans to build a biogas plant in Drum Co Monaghan ,Planning number
2660018,the proposed biogas plant would provide a local and a sustainable
outlet or facility for the conversion of organic manures from our growers and
other farms in to green energies (electricity and hot water)„regenerative
sustainable compost ,Fibres for plant nurseries and other valuable Organic
biproduct.
This investment would strengthen and re -enforce the existing rural economy in
the county of Monaghan it will provide direct and indirect employment and
offer confidence to all agricultural sectors to invest and modernise their
business and by the use of electricity produced in the biogas plant will help
reduce the Growers Carbon Foot Print,
The proposed Bio gas plant will provide a practical and a centralised solution
that assists the agricultural sectors and local authorities with farm nutrient
utilisation and the development of farm nutrient management plans
