Monaghan County Council, Planning Offices, 1 Dublin Street, Monaghan H18 X982. Planning Application Reference Number 2660045 Mr. Michael Courtney, Cornasleeve and Cormoy, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. Mr. Michael Courtney intends to apply for planning permission for construction of an agricultural entrance onto the existing public road to comprise of entrance piers, fencing and lay-by area, completion of all associated and ancillary To whom it may concern, I Adrian Kerley refer to the above planning application and wish to make the following objections in relation to the proposed development. The proposed development includes the creation of a new entrance located within approximately 50 metres of an existing farm entrance. This section of road is already served by multiple access points, including two additional entrances in close proximity, one of which is directly opposite the proposed new entrance. The cumulative effect of these entrances significantly increases the risk of traffic conflict in this area. Crucially, the proposed entrance is situated on a dangerous bend where visibility for approaching traffic is already restricted. The introduction of an additional access point at this location would further compromise sightlines and reaction times for road users. The development would also involve frequent use by heavy farm machinery and HGVs entering and exiting the site. The presence of slow -moving and large vehicles at this bend presents a substantial hazard to all road users, including motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. The likelihood of sudden vehicle movements combined with limited visibility creates an unacceptable level of risk. Given the existing road layout and the number of entrances already in operation, the addition of another access point at this location would make this stretch of road significantly more dangerous. It is reasonable to conclude that this proposal would increase the potential for accidents and negatively impact the safety of all who use the road. On the bases of the above I trust my concerns will be taken into consideration, prior to a decision being reached on this planning application. Mise le meas, Adrian Kerley
