Dear Sir/Madam,
We refer to your correspondence regarding the above-mentioned application for permission for development
at Inniskeen.
Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) is a statutory agency responsible for inland fisheries in Ireland. Under section 7(1) of
the Inland Fisheries Act 2010 (No. 10 of 2010) the principal function of IFI is the protection, management and
conservation of the inland fisheries resource.
The site is located adjacent to the River Fane, which is valuable from a fisheries perspective as it supports stocks
of Atlantic Salmon, trout and lamprey among other species.
The Ecological status of the waterbody at this location, Fane_050, is Good.
IFI recommends that suitable mitigation measures should be put in place to prevent the discharge of deleterious
matter from the site both during and following construction.
It is important that the proposed development will not have a negative impact on the aquatic habitat and the
Ecological status of the waterbody.
