26/60091 - permission for (i) change of use of an existing storage building to a new PV Panel training
room, (ii) Interior alterations and renovations to the existing storage building, (iii) Alterations to the
existing elevations, (iv) All associated site work at Monaghan Institute, Monaghan Education
Campus Armagh Road, Knockaconny, Monaghan Town Co. Monaghan.

Dear Sir/Madam,
With reference to the above application, I am to inform you that the information submitted is not
adequate to enable a decision to be made.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 33 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001
(as amended) you are hereby requested to submit further information as set out on the attached
page.
Article 33(3) states that “where a requirement under sub-article (1) or sub-article (2) (Clarification)
is not complied with within the period of 6 months from the date of the requirement for further
information, or such additional period, not exceeding 3 months, as may be agreed by the Planning
Authority, the planning application shall be declared to be withdrawn”.
It should be noted that you will be required to give notice in an approved newspaper under article
35(1)(a) and erect a site notice in accordance with Article 35 (1)(b) of the Planning and Development
Regulations 2001 (as amended) if the further information received is considered to contain
significant additional data.
Please Note: 4 copies of Additional Information to be submitted. In the case of Significantly
Different Information, 6 copies of additional information to be submitted.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Following a site inspection, the Planning Authority notes that the submitted ‘existing’ elevational
drawings do not accurately reflect the elevations of the existing building as it appears on the ground,
particularly in respect of the building’s northern elevation. It is also unclear if the applicant seeks to
retain this existing northern elevation, or if it is intended to change same in accordance with the
submitted ‘proposed’ plans, and as previously permitted under related Exempted Development
application 25/56. The applicant is therefore requested
to provide clarification with regard to same and/or submit mitigating drawings/documentation.
2. The Planning Authority notes that new signage has been erected on the building’s western elevation
with the wording ‘Sustainable Energy Hub’ however, no signage details have been submitted with
the application. The applicant is requested to provide clarification with regard to same and/or
submit mitigating drawings/documentation.
Note: Subject to clarification provided with regard to items 1 and 2 above, the proposal may need
to be readvertised and new site notice(s) erected to ensure that the proposal is in accordance with
Article 35 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended)
and so that all elements of the development are accurately reflected.
