This planning application is relating to:
‘permission to construct a slatted shed with underground storage tanks and all associated site
development works’.
The site is located within the Glyde_030 waterbody. This waterbody is currently at Good Status. The
site is located on an area of Extreme Ground Water Vulnerability with Poor (P) Aquifers, Bedrock which
is Generally Unproductfve except for Local Zones (Pl).
A water protectfon checklist has been provided with this applicatfon. A site layout plan has been
provided showing all storm water lines in blue, soiled water/effluent lines in orange and foul water
lines in brown. All storm water will be directed to an existfng stream through two outiall points as
shown on the site layout plan. Existfng soiled water generated on site and effluent run off from the
silage pit are directed to an existfng slurry tank.
A supplementary planning applicatfon form for agricultural development has been provided. In sectfon
B, Point 11, lands available for slurry spreading have been stated. These lands belong to 2 separate
herd numbers (R1011239 & R1012146). A nutrient management assessment is needed for both of
these herd numbers to ensure they have capacity to accept slurry imports.
In Sectfon B, part 12 of this form, the existfng cattle numbers provided are 100 in total (12 – 18
months). The proposed cattle numbers provided are 60 in total, 30 (12 – 18 months) and 30 (6 – 12
months). Clarificatfon is needed on these figures.
The informatfon submitted with this applicatfon is not sufficient to allow a determinatfon on the
possible impacts of the proposed development on surrounding surface and ground waters. Therefore,
it is recommended that the following additfonal informatfon is requested from the applicant:
1. Submit informatfon to demonstrate compliance with specified limits for nitrogen loading as
required by the European Union (Good Agricultural Practfce for Protectfon of Waters)
Regulatfons, 2022 as amended. An N & P statement should be submitted for both herd
numbers (R1011239 & R1012146) that are proposed to be used as spread lands to ensure both
have capacity to accept imports from the applicant.
2. Submit a revised supplementary planning applicatfon form for agricultural development,
ensure Sectfon A, Point 12 Stock numbers is filled out correctly with regards to current and
proposed cattle numbers.
