I wish to acknowledge receipt of your application for permission for development consisting of the
following: - 1. Full restoration of the 1930’s original glazed walkway known as the Arcade, built at the
same time of a school building to connect to the main former convent structure. 2. Full restoration
including thermal upgrades to the 1959 glazed walkway constructed at the same time as the Concert Hall
to connect all areas of the convent / school. Proposed works include the replacement of the patent
aluminium glazing bars and laminated glass roof with a natural slated roof. at St Louis Secondary School
Mullaghmonaghan, Tirkeenan Townlands Glen Road, Monaghan Town was received on 22/05/2026.
The drawings and specifications submitted with your application are being examined by the Council’s
technical staff and you will be notified of the Council’s decision in due course.
Please note that no work should be carried out in connection with the proposal until a written grant of
permission to do so has been received by you from this Council. The carrying out of work, without the
permission referred to, could render you liable for legal proceedings under the Planning Acts.
Please note that the validity of this application is subject to the Site Notice complying with the
Regulations. An inspection of the site will be carried out within a period of five weeks from the date of
receipt of your application. If in the event of the Site Notice not complying with the Regulations, this
application will be declared Invalid and returned to you.
