Hedges kept so neat and tidy, you worked from dawn till after dark. The milking parlour so spick and span, cattle sheds the same, when you had an hour to spare you turned water off the lane. The cows and calves were well fed with silage, grass and hay, then when calves got older they got meal four times a day. The cats were given sweet milk but the dog - he was a pet, every day when you had dinner he would get a wee dessert. All jobs were done like clockwork, all bills were paid on time. Radio listeners pricked up their ears when Pat Owens came on the line. You talked about the way of life for a farming country man, joked about see through rashers that cremated on the pan. Days and dates tripped off your tongue, you had great recall. Before you told each story you started with “What in all" Bad weather caused a lot of grief, was mentioned every day. You did your bit for Clifferna water scheme and the Billis’s IFA. Like ash trees on your land there came a time to die. When neighbours got the word some had a silent cry. Many friends will quote you while they are still alive and you never will be forgotten by the Class of ’75. Those who think of him today, a little prayer to Jesus say. Anniversary Mass, Saturday 6th June at 8pm in St Mary’s Church, Clanaphilip. Sexton John Corfeyhone 1st Anniversary In loving memory of a dear husband, father, grandfather and brother who died on 28th May 2025. God saw the road was getting tough The hill was hard to climb He gently closed your tired eyes And whispered ’Peace be thine’ . Always in our thoughs and prayers. Anniversary Mass in St. Brigid’s Church Laragh on Sunday 31st May at 11am. Quinn Martina (Nee Cronin) Killymooney Drive, Cavan 5th Anniversary In loving memory of our dear Mother. Memories are the nicest thing They last from day to day They don’t get lost They don’t grow old And they never fade away. Always remembered by her children Henny, Patrick, Jolene and Miranda and her grandchildren. Anniversary Mass on Saturday 30th May at 7.30pm in The Cathedral.
