ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. The application as submitted is considered insufficient in terms of environmental information. In
this regard the applicant is requested to submit;
a) A fully completed supplementary Agricultural planning application form.
b) Submit details on the design of the proposed silt trap and the outfall location for storm waters
arising on site. Proposals for the storm water drainage system should take account of the
Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage guidance document on Nature-based
Solutions to the Management of Rainwater and Surface Water Runoff in Urban Areas.
c) Confirm if there will be any change in the volume of wash waters generated as a result of the
proposed increase in bird places.
d) Submit revised maps clearly indicating the lands available for the spreading of wash waters
arising from the existing and proposed development, details submitted shall contain sufficient
detail to demonstrate compliance with the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for the
Protection of Waters) Regulations, 2025 and shall include the most recent DAFM N & P
statements for the lands in question.
e) Submit a revised letter from the registered contractor for the collection of poultry manure
arising from the development which clearly details if the contractor is in a position to accept the
additional manure produced as a result of the proposed increase in bird places.
f) Submit details of arrangements/storage facilities available for the manure arising from the
development during the prohibited period for land spreading of organic fertilisers as set out in
the European Union (Good Agricultural Practice for the Protection of Waters) Regulations, 2025.
2. The Planning Authority notes that the works associated with the proposed development primarily
comprise internal modifications together with the installation of a multi-tier/platform rearing
system. The Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) does not provide details of any
increase in soiled water arising from the proposed increase in stock numbers. However, it is
considered that the cleaning of the multi-tier/platform rearing system is likely to result in increased
water usage and, consequently, increased volumes of soiled water. Accordingly, the applicant is
requested to address the following:
a) Provide an updated assessment of water supply requirements associated with the proposed
development;
b) Demonstrate that adequate land spreading is available to accommodate any additional soiled
water generated.
3. The Planning Authority notes that the Environmental Section has requested further information.
The applicant shall update the submitted EIAR accordingly.
