Monaghan, H18 PP70 Project Type: Wastewater Treatment System Upgrade Design Specification. Reference: 250711. Date: 12.05.26 Scope Mitchell Environmental Ltd. have been requested by The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig to produce a design specification for the upgrade of the wastewater treatment system at the above site. All calculations are based on a Site Characterisation Assessment carried out by Oliver Farrelly of Arc Design Services and allowing for constraints in relation to available area for percolation. As part this wastewater treatment system upgrade, it is proposed to collect all of the domestic effluent generated on-site via a new 50 PE BAF Wastewater Treatment System before discharging to Tertiary Sand Polishing Filter Bed. The existing wastewater tan ks will be retained and retrofitted into additional primary settlement tanks. The design and calculations follow the EPA code of practice on treatment systems for small communities, business, leisure centres and hotels, 1999 and the EPA code of practice 2021. Figure 1. The details contained above outline the maximum wastewater loading rates from the development. 3 RECEIVED: 19/06/2026 Design of the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant Following the design calculations (fig.2), it is proposed to install a 5 0 PE SBAF Wastewater Treatment System. Please refer to the Wastewater Treatment System Proposal and drawings provided by O’Reilly Oakstown Environmental in the Appendix for more detail. Existing Wastewater Treatment Plant The existing WWTP is to be desludged and cleaned by a registered contractor and be used as an additional primary storage which will form part of the overall upgrade. 4 RECEIVED: 19/06/2026 Design of disposal of treated wastewater to ground Based on the PV rates contained within the Site Characterisation Report by Arc Design, the tertiary polishing filter proposed will be 1250 sqm with dimensions of 62.5m x 20.0m. Please refer to drawings below for more detail. Percolation aggregates specification Gravel: 15mm-25mm washed gravel with void ratio of 0.4 installed to a total depth of 400mm. EPA approved bio sand. Installation Oversight The installation is to be carried out as per EPA Code of Practice and all works should be overseen by a suitable and competent person. Final report with photographs and as-built drawings to be provided upon completion Mitchell Environmental are fully insured for Public Liability (€2,600,000) and Private Indemnity. (€1,300,000).
