Re: Significant Furt her Information Monaghan Institute - Change of Use of existing of an existing
storage building to a PV Panel Training Room
Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of our clients, Cavan and Monaghan Education & Training Board, we submit this significant further
information in response to the FI received on the 5th of May 2026 for the development at Monaghan Institute,
Monaghan Education Campus, Armagh Road, Knockaconny, Monaghan Town, Co. Monaghan, H18 FY94. In response to
the 2 no. additional information points raised, we note the following:
1. Following a site inspection, the Planning Authority notes that the submitted ‘existing’ elevational drawings do not
accurately reflect the elevations of the existing building as it appears on the ground, particularly in respect of the
building’s northern elevation. It is also unclear if the applicant seeks to retain this existing northern elevation, or if
it is intended to change same in accordance with the submitted ‘proposed’ plans, and as previously permitted under
related Exempted Development application 25/56. The applicant is therefore requested
to provide clarification with regard to same and/or submit mitigating drawings/documentation.
The proposed application is for the retention of the building in its existing form with no proposed changes to be
made to any of the elevation. Please refer to the revised drawing attached for clarity on the retention of the
building in its current form

2. The Planning Authority notes that new signage has been erected on the building’s western elevation with the
wording ‘Sustainable Energy Hub’ however, no signage details have been submitted with the application. The
applicant is requested to provide clarification with regard to same and/or submit mitigating
drawings/documentation.
We note the request for retention of the existing signage on the building in its current form. Refer to the attached
revised drawings showing the signage wished to be retained.
