Plants must be supplied at the same size and species as specified in theplanting schedule on the landscape masterplan. Any proposed replacement species or deviation fromthe proposed schedule should be highlighted to and agreed prior to installation. The work must becarried out while soil and weather conditions are suitable. Planting is not to take place during periodsof frost, strong winds or when the ground is waterlogged.Any topsoil retained on site in stockpiles for use in planting works is to be stored in heaps of no greaterthan 1.2m in height and is to be kept weed free at all times. Apply proprietary herbicide to anyperennial weeds and allow a period of time recommended by manufacturer to elapse before disturbingand re-using elsewhere on site. Do not use peat or peat based products. All plants are to be watered thoroughly before planting stage to ensure that the base is thoroughlysoaked prior to final backfilling.Existing Hedgerows and TreesAll existing hedgrows and trees to be protected from damage during development works and to bestrengthened at all weak locationsTree ProtectionAny trees to be retained must be protected at all times during construction. All operations must in accordance within the local council guidelines.Protective tree fencing must be erected prior to all construction operations on site.Protective fencing must be in accordance with BS5837 as specified and approvedbefore construction begins. Any damage to fencing must be reported to the arboristimmediately. All persons on site must be made aware of the ‘Code of Practice for the Protectionof Trees’ and there must be strictly no access to the protected tree zone unlessapproved by the arborist.Tree PlantingFollow tree planting procedure as outlined in the tree pit details supplied.Break up bottom of tree pit to a depth of 200mm and ensure ground is free-draining.Loosen edges of tree pit at time of planting by hand, using a fork to ensure good drainage.Pits should be excavated no greater than 48hrs prior to planting and dewatered as required.Incorporate a soil conditioner/ameliorant in the form of peat-free tree and shrub compost orwell rotted spent mushroom compost into backfill material at the rate of min.40L per pit (80L for semi-mature trees and bigger). Backfill topsoil mix in layers of 150mm,firming at each layer and loosening the pit sides to aid drainage. The surface level of the pit should be 50mm above the surrounding ground.Trees shall be planted in the centre of the excavated pits with the top of the root balllevel with the surrounding surface.Hedge PlantingWhere the topsoil is undisturbed excavate to 450mm depth and backfill with 300mmmulti-purpose grade topsoil to BS3882 and top with 90gs/m black geotextile weedguard type fabric and 75mm depth medium grade bark mulch. Subsoil to be fullybroken-up to ensure adequate decompaction and alleviate free-drainage.Follow planting guidelines as per planting specification and schedule.Lawn Grass SeedingAreas to be seeded are to be finely graded to bring to a uniform and even grade at the correct finishedlevel and to remove all minor hollows and ridges. All stones and debris greater than 50mm in size to beremoved and disposed of off-site. Seeded areas are to consist of min. 150mm topsoil; either existingretained site sourced topsoil (free from weeds) or imported topsoil (sandy loam, General Purposegrade to BS3882) or a combination of the two as necessary. Final preparation of the seeded areasshall be carried out as to create a fine tilth surface suitable for seeding. The area is to be seededbetween April and October with approved grass seed mix, as specified in the planting schedules at thespecified rate. Following seeding areas are to be lightly rolled.Betula Pendula (Silver Birch)Pyrus Chanticleer (Pear)Prunus Avium (Wild Cherry)Sorbis Aucuparia(Mountain Ash / Rowan)Carpinus Betulus(Hornbeam)Spring Bulb Planting Mix5m BUFFER ZONE BETWEENDEVELOPMENT AND GRAVEYARDCONSISTING OF NATIVE TREES ANDHEDGING BUFFER PLANTING MIXAND MOUNDINGEXISTING HEDGEROWTO BE RETAINED EXISTING HEDGE MAINTAINED ANDENHANCED WITH ADDITIONAL NATIVE TREESAND HEDGING BUFFER PLANTING MIXEXISTING HEDGE BETWEENDEVELOPMENT ANDGRAVEYARD TO BE RETAINED1:2 SLOPE PLANTED WITHNATIVE TREES ANDHEDGING BUFFER MIXSPRING BULBPLANTING MIX TOSPECIFIC HIGHIMPACT AREASROOT BARRIER BETWEENTREES AND ATTENUATIONSYSTEM / SERVICES WHERE 6mPLANTING DISTANCE CANT BEARCHIVEDPLANNING NOTE:THIS IS A PLANNING DRAWING ONLY.
