No’s. 19/269 Applicant: Gareth & Karen Conlon Proposed Development: Permission for development at Aghacloghan, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan. The development will consist of; Construction of single-storey short-term accommodation extension to existing environmental education and retreat centre, internal and external alterations and additions, connections to existing services and all associated site works Location: Aghacloghan, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, A81 C998 Adjoining Road No. R-180-5 Site Notice: Date: Engineer’s Report No Objection Subject to the Following Conditions: 1. Sight distance of 120 metres in both directions to be maintained to be provided from a point in the entrance 2.4 metres from the road edge and 1.05 metre above ground level were the laneway meets R-180-5. Sight distances to be measured to the nearside road edge in both directions. Where it is necessary remove hedges/crash barrier in order to achieve this sight distance. 2. The area within the visibility splays shall be cleared to provide a level surface no higher than 250 mm above the level of the adjoining carriageway and shall be retained and kept clear thereafter. 3. The line of any new fence or wall must be positioned behind the visibility splays. It is recommended that any new trees or shrubs are planted back from the visibility splays to allow for future growth and some species will require additional set back. All existing planting must be kept trimmed behind visibility splays. Where a timber post and rail fence is erected along road boundary, the timber rails to be placed on the site side of posts, in the interest of road safety. Any new boundary or entrance work to be located not less than 4.0 metres from the laneway carriageway with level margin to allow for passing vehicles on laneway along full site frontage.
