scenario, to estimate your NPH to date, divide total organic N figure by your BISS reference area.
Please note:
1. These figures are based on the current Nitrates Regulations (S.I. No. 113 of 2022, as amended).
2. This statement shows the N and P produced by cattle only which are calculated using available AIM data at the
time of processing. Therefore, these figures do not take into account any amendments or animal movements
subsequently notified to the Department. If you have other livestock on your farm (such as sheep, pigs, poultry,
horses, etc), you will need to work out the N and P produced and add this to the figure for cattle to get the total N and
P produced on your holding.
3. If you applied for a derogation this year but are rejected or deemed ineligible, your holding's maximum organic N
limit will be 170 kg N/ha. If you have commonage within your holding, the maximum organic N limit on this area is 50
kg N/ha.
4. If availing of a Nitrates Derogation areas that are set at a maximum stocking rate limit or 220 kg and 250 kg N/ha
can be viewed on the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine webpage at www.gov.ie/nitrates
