Hello Toirleach
Here is my 24
1) Monorail System (elevated train)
initfally Monaghan to Knockatallon, to Clones , to Ballybay and later expand to
Castleblayney and Carrickmacross
--to give Monaghan a unique tourist attractfon overlooking the scenic drumlin
landscape
--to improve/ complement the poor local transport system, with new axes in
different directfons, more east- west trajectories
--designed as an electro-magnetfc system, which does not need constant power to
it.
2) Convent Lake development: has been entfrely neglected, while having big potentfal for
Recreatfon and Tourism and Biotope creatfon
--dredge, tfdy margins, tend the 2 Crannogs
-- walks, benches, depending on size small row boats/ paddle boats
3) Ulster Canal: dredge and clean in both directfons from Monagan town, to help flow of water
so it is not stagnant and smelly for the people on Greenway
4) Cycle Lanes: along the Clones Road to the Cinema and Rossmore
and full length of North Road
5) Bus Statfon: Redevlopment to include space for private Operators such as Rice's
(Refer to Swindon, UK)
more sheltered areas for passengers, with seatfng
no locking of restrooms /toilets in evening/ at night ( are sorely necessary for
passengers coming from long distances)
vending machines outside for afterhours use
more reasonable prices in indoor cafe
6) Glass roof over Church Square: from above Courthouse to BOI and from St. Patrick's Church
to Mc Elvaney's pub
would allow for events beneath in all weathers.
with view to eventual pedestrianisatfon of Church Square
7 ) Roundabout on Dublin Road at Bogue's: place a "Giant" like ones at Rossmore
if old Tree trunk stfll turn it into sculpture
8) Observatfon Platiorm at Knockatallon: to locate coin operated binoculars/ telescopes for
panoramic views

9) Rossmore Park: provide a running track all along the outer perimeter of park, inside the wall
10) provide a "dog park area" in Rosmore Park : large enough fenced in area where dogs can
run/ exercise off leash
for socialisatfon and play of dogs with others, especially important for socialisatfon
of puppies/ young dogs.
11) Rossmore park should have a concert stage area
12) never again allow Coillte to fell trees in Car Park area: replant beautfful and shade giving
broadleaf trees and provide picnic benches again
13) Rossmore Park should have an Adventure Park area: Zip Lines, Climbing Walls etc.
14) Pet cemetery in Rossmore to be made visible and nice
15) Hydro-Generator in Rossmore Park to be re-developed to provide electricity for amenitfes in
it
16) River at Old Cross Square to be cleaned up and made to look better
17) Castleshane: development of waterfall: clear around it, make it accessible and suitable to be
painted and photographed
18) provide a footpath along the Bypass from Bogue's to Graham's: people are power walking
and running there and are at risk from traffic
19) provide cycle lane along same bypass to service both schools
20) Cassidy's House = Old Stables at Castleshane to be Compulsorily Purchased and developed
into a B&B/ Tourist Facility or similar
and be included in List of Protected Structures/ have a Conserevatfon Order placed
on it
21) Overpass bridges for pedestrians and wheelchairs at Coolshanagh (Graham's) roundabout
circular walkway in roundabout with 4 overpass bridges
22) move the Pedestrian Light at Poc Fada across to Black's:
cars coming from Post Office turn left at this light, regardless or unaware of traffic
rules, and endanger pedestrians.
23) Increase Security deposit for all Developers to 10.000 euro per house
24) Compulsory Purchase of Mc Nally's Shop building on Diamond and then Public sale
